Szechuan House is a straightforward, full-service Chinese restaurant tucked along SW Tualatin Valley Highway in Aloha. The spot serves a menu that resonates with anyone looking for well-prepared, made-to-order Chinese comfort food without pretense. Expect a kitchen focused on freshness and authentic flavors, where dishes emerge hot from the wok and with a balanced freshness that locals appreciate.

The atmosphere reflects the familiarity of a neighborhood favorite rather than a trendy dining room. The owner and staff often come across as warm and welcoming, setting a low-key but attentive tone that makes it feel like a place to drop in regularly. Given its setting, it’s well suited for casual dinners with family or friends, where the pace is unhurried and the emphasis is on satisfying, honest food.

On the menu, the Sesame Chicken stands out as a reliably fresh and flavorful choice, confirmed by repeat diners who praise its consistent preparation and heat straight from the kitchen. The extensive options cover classic appetizers like spring rolls and homemade potstickers, hearty noodle soups, and a range of chicken dishes including Kungpao and Cashew Chicken. For those seeking a bit of spice or a taste closer to traditional Szechuan style, the Szechuan Chicken Noodle and dry sauteed string beans present good picks.

This is also a spot that welcomes pick-up orders, which come out hot and retain freshness well—ideal for those grabbing a quick meal but craving something beyond typical fast food fare. There are gluten-free choices such as the Orange Chicken, catering thoughtfully to dietary needs in the neighborhood community.

Evenings and weekends seem like natural times to visit, when the place fills with locals looking for straightforward, hearty meals and a familiar face behind the counter. The presence of well-loved soups such as Hot and Sour and Egg Flower suggests a comfort-food angle that is especially appealing when a warm, soothing bowl is the order of the day.

Overall, Szechuan House fits well in Aloha as a no-fuss, dependable spot offering authentic Chinese dishes with a homely feel. It works best for diners who appreciate genuine, fresh-cooked meals served in a relaxed, unassuming environment where friendliness is part of the experience.

Great food cooked to order every single time. The owner is always ready to greet you in to her restaurant. Update first time I try sesame chicken and let me tell you the it doesn't disappoint. Very fresh and served hot of the wok.

Had to come back a second time on our trip to the Portland area. The homemade potstickers are top tier as well as the Orange Chicken, Sesame Tofu and fried rices. The lady was so sweet and it feels like nice place to dine-in. 5/5

Going on two decades to this place. Food is homemade in the kitchen using fresh ingredients. If you are every ill try the Won-ton Soup you will feel better within minutes. The only restaurant that reminds me of China Town in New York City.

First time trying this place & we were not disappointed!! We have a go-to place on the East side but have yet to find something comparable since we moved over to this side of town. This place is definitely our new favorite & we will be back!! The lady was very nice, not only to us but also the other 2 tables seated in the restaurant. The food was quick, fresh & so delicious!! Very generous portions, we ate our fill & still had plenty leftover for dinner.

I called in this order for pick up and was not disappointed. It was fresh and hot at pick up. Everything was so good and I was very pleased to see gluten free options on the menu! The gluten free orange chicken is delicious!
